About Me

I’m so happy you are here! My name is Maryanna Lapp. I grew up Amish and from the time I was little I remember being in the kitchen with my mom and sisters cooking and baking.
I’ve always loved to be in the kitchen.
In recent years, I’ve grown more passionate about a healthy lifestyle, and food is one of the many areas that I believe can contribute to our wellbeing.


In 2020, I started experimenting with sourdough bread and wanted to learn the art of sourdough so I could bake it for my family.
In the process of experimenting, I gifted some to friends and neighbors.
A few of those friends asked for a loaf every week—this started with 4 loaves a week, then 8, etc.
And that is how Baked & Free was born.
It surprised me as much as anybody else!

I have been married to my husband, Kent for 17 years and we have five beautiful children. We live in Crieve Hall, Nashville. Thank you so much for stopping by!
